One of the "unique" features of the Koma people is that the women wear clothes made of leaves. They are almost naked, wearing only branches and leaves to cover their private parts. Around their necks, the Koma often wear necklaces made from old coins from Nigeria and Cameroon, along with some leather amulets.
After the coming-of-age ceremony, girls added red, blue, or white ribbons to their waists. However, they remained faithful to their leaf costumes. They also began to lubricate their bodies with sandalwood mixed with canarium oil. Koma women applied clay mixed with oil to their hair to create long, braided hairstyles.
