Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has just decided to appoint Mr. Le Duc Thai, member of the Party Central Committee and Commander of the Border Guard, to hold the position of Deputy Minister of National Defense .

This morning, the President decided to promote Le Duc Thai from Lieutenant General to Senior General.

Senior Lieutenant General Le Duc Thai was born in 1967 in Quang Ninh province. He has a bachelor's degree in Border Defense. He worked for many years at the Quang Ninh Provincial Border Guard and the Border Guard Command.

According to the Ministry of National Defense's Information Portal, the Ministry of National Defense currently has the following deputy ministers: General Nguyen Tan Cuong (Chief of the General Staff); Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong; Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien; Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh; Senior Lieutenant General Vu Hai San; Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam; Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang; Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Hien; Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Quang Ngoc; Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau and Senior Lieutenant General Le Duc Thai.

Also today, the Prime Minister decided to appoint Colonel Nguyen Anh Ngoc, Chief of Logistics and Engineering of Military Region 2, to hold the position of Deputy Commander of Military Region 2.
