Designed for luxurious, everyday city living.
It’s been 15 years since Helmut Lang left his eponymous label, eventually leaving the fashion industry to join the art world. Before leaving, the Austrian designer pioneered a new design language, one that pioneered counterculture styles in luxury fashion, from androgynous silhouettes and utilitarian garments to quintessential minimalism and sharp tailoring.
Helmut Lang’s successor is now Peter Do, and the young designer is a change of pace at Helmut Lang. Although the designer launched his NYC-based label last year for the SS24 season, he has already launched an FW24 collection and even a pre-season. The final piece on the list is the brand’s new Pre-Fall 2024 collection, which is available in stores now.
This pre-season collection marks Peter Do's second collection for the brand since its creation, and the first to be shown ahead of his second show for FW24. But what's also interesting about the collection is that because it's free of any runway styling or constraints, audiences get to see some really versatile, casual pieces that Peter Do envisions for the Helmut Lang model.
For the collection, it’s all about everyday life in the city. Whether it’s running to the subway or having lunch with friends, the collection is suitable for all those moments, but of course with a touch of luxury. Inside the wardrobe, you’ll find core pieces like suits, knitwear, sleek tops, tailored pants, etc. But within them, you’ll find Peter Do and Lang’s underlying sensibility for high-end, easy dressing.
