Informing the press about the outstanding military and defense results of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Major General Nguyen Ngoc Doan, Chief of Political Affairs of the General Staff, said that in the past time, with the attention of the Party and State leaders, directly under the leadership and direction of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense , the coordination of agencies and units of the entire army, the support of Party committees, authorities and people nationwide, the General Staff has successfully completed its assigned tasks, some tasks have been completed excellently.
With the spirit of solidarity, unity, promoting advantages, overcoming difficulties, the Party Committee and the Chief of the General Staff have led and directed the entire General Staff to strive, overcome difficulties, successfully complete military and defense tasks, some tasks have been completed excellently, creating strong changes in all aspects of work.
In particular, the unit has advised the Party and State to successfully organize a series of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army, the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day; the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory; the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification... The General Staff has implemented solutions to build a comprehensively strong unit that is "exemplary and typical", achieving new progress, strictly maintaining discipline and order; improving the quality of training, exercises and activities of the militia and self-defense forces; directing forces to participate in preventing, combating, overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, and search and rescue to ensure practicality and effectiveness.
In particular, the coordination of propaganda work in the press in recent times has always been of interest to the Party Committee and the Chief of the General Staff, leading and directing the affiliated agencies and units, helping propaganda activities in the mass media to be carried out regularly, with focus and key points, especially when implementing key political tasks, during major holidays, important historical events...
Every year, more than 1,200 press works are published in the media, including: Articles, reports, documentaries, special features and interviews on the activities of the General Staff and its affiliated units.
Speaking at the meeting, General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army and Deputy Minister of National Defense, outlined a number of important milestones in the 80-year tradition of the General Staff and outstanding achievements in force building and combat readiness in recent times.
General Nguyen Tan Cuong said that in the remaining time of 2025, the General Staff will continue to carry out military and defense tasks; currently directing units to actively train and prepare for the parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2); at the same time, actively and proactively prepare for the 19th Congress of the Party Committee of the General Staff - Ministry of National Defense, especially organizing activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day (September 7, 1945 - September 7, 2025)...
On that basis, General Nguyen Tan Cuong suggested that in the coming time, press agencies continue to pay attention to and widely promote activities on the history, traditions, and achievements of the General Staff. Promote propaganda on key military and defense activities of the General Staff; especially the development and implementation of resolutions, strategies, projects, and legal systems on military and defense; and the implementation of the policies of the Party, State, Central Military Commission, and Ministry of National Defense on adjusting the organization of forces in the direction of "refined, compact, strong" towards modernization...
