According to the dispatch, in recent times, the Northern and Central provinces have experienced prolonged heat waves, with outdoor temperatures reaching over 40 degrees Celsius in some areas. The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting predicts that in the next few days, the weather will continue to be hot and extremely hot, with some places being especially hot, affecting people's production activities andeducational activities at educational institutions.

The weather in the northern and central provinces is experiencing extremely hot days.

According to the school year time frame decision of the Ministry of Education and Training, at this time, educational institutions nationwide are preparing to complete the 2022-2023 school year; especially for students in grades 9 and 12, they are focusing on reviewing and preparing for the 10th grade entrance exam and the 2023 high school graduation exam.

To ensure the safety of staff, teachers and students performing learning tasks and organizing educational activities at educational institutions, the Minister of Education and Training requested the directors of the Department of Education and Training to direct educational institutions to focus on performing the following tasks:

Proactively adjust the school's educational plan, arrange and schedule classes reasonably; in which, priority is given to arranging the early morning time frame to organize teaching subjects and outdoor educational activities to ensure the safety of teachers and students. Do not arrange for students to participate in educational activities and extracurricular activities during the hot season.

Organize inspection, repair, supplement, and replace broken electrical equipment in classrooms such as electric fans, air conditioners, and ventilation fans; increase sun protection in classrooms at noon or in the afternoon; open windows for ventilation if the outside temperature is equal to or lower than the classroom temperature. Direct educational institutions to increase drinking water to ensure hygiene and safety for teachers and students in classrooms.

Coordinate with the electricity sector to provide adequate and timely power supply to schools, especially kindergartens and primary schools with boarding and semi-boarding students. Coordinate with the health sector to organize propaganda and education for students on protecting and taking care of their own health, ensuring proper nutrition and preventing epidemics during hot days.

The Minister of Education and Training also requested educational institutions to step up propaganda and education to raise awareness among officials, teachers and students about saving electricity; turning off lights and unnecessary devices; and coordinating with parents, authorities and local organizations and unions in managing and educating students about drowning prevention, especially in places with potential drowning risks.
