American blockbuster Aquaman 2 attracts Vietnamese audiences

Although many critics on Deadline, Variety, and The Hollywood Reporter rated Aquaman 2 as having a shallow script, shallow villain development, and too strict adherence to the "superhero movie formula", with the reputation of part 1 and extremely beautiful special effects, along with humorous details, satisfying the entertainment factor of part 2, this blockbuster with a budget of 215 million USD (plus 100 million USD for distribution and marketing) still attracts global audiences.

At the Vietnamese box office, after 5 days of screening, Aquaman 2 earned more than 47 billion VND (as of December 26). However, according to a representative of the Box Office VN statistics page, "this revenue is still far behind the achievement of part 1 when in 2019, in just 10 days, Aquaman 1 earned nearly 100 billion VND in Vietnam. Aquaman 2 may be the only bright spot of the DC Extended Universe in particular and the superhero movie genre in general this year".

Aquaman 2 revolves around the uncompromising confrontation to protect the world between Aquaman and the villain Black Manta - who was defeated by the sea king in the first film but still has the intention of revenge.
