In recent days, the news that Coach Poking is about to lead the Singapore national team has attracted special attention from fans. According to Singaporean press, the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) is urgently looking for a replacement for Coach Tsutomu Ogura - who left the national team in June.
Notably, out of about 60 submitted applications, the list of candidates was narrowed down to 15 names, and surprisingly, Coach Polking appeared alongside names like Fabio Cannavaro or Shin Tae Yong.

After the rumor of leading the Singapore team, the coach of the Hanoi Police Club officially spoke up: “I only know the information in the press. I am very happy to know that the Singapore Football Federation knows me. But I still have a contract with the Hanoi Police Club and have a good relationship with the president. I can only say that if one day the president says: "Mano, it's time for you to go", then I will leave."
With these shares, Coach Polking affirmed that the above rumors are baseless, and he will continue to lead the Hanoi Police Club.
In nearly two years in charge, Mr. Polking has made his mark by helping the police team win the 2024-25 National Cup and the 2025 Southeast Asian Club Cup runner-up position. Previously, he also helped the Thai team win the AFF Cup two consecutive times.
This season, the Hanoi Police Club participated in 5 tournaments at the same time, and the role of Coach Polking became even more important. To complete the goals, the police team recently bought many quality players, both domestic and foreign, in which the two overseas Vietnamese players, Adou Minh and Brandon Ly, were the faces that received the most attention.
According to the schedule, Hanoi Police will start the 2025-26 season with the National Super Cup match against Nam Dinh Club on August 9.
