On the opening day, the Thai women's volleyball team struggled to beat the Philippines 3-1. Losing a set to a much weaker opponent was a warning sign for Thailand.
The home team of this year's SEA V.League stage 1 had to go through some breathless moments of chasing. There was a time when they even narrowly escaped defeat and then came back from there.
This time, against Indonesia, the Thai women's volleyball team still has not learned their lesson. When entering the match, the home athletes made many mistakes and played somewhat subjectively.
Thanks to that, in set 1, Indonesia created a surprise with a 25-22 victory. Continuing to lose a set to a weaker opponent shows that the Thai team is unstable.
In set 2, the home team gradually regained their rhythm to win 25-15. But instability appeared once again in set 3. They were dragged into a long tug-of-war by Indonesia. In the end, Thailand could only overcome this set with a score of 27-25.
However, the drama of set 3 also significantly wore down Indonesia's stamina, allowing Thailand to easily take set 4. The home team won 25-12 to end the match with a score of 3-1.
With two hard-fought victories over the Philippines and Indonesia, the Thai women's volleyball team is showing many problems. Tomorrow (August 3), they will have a decisive match with the Vietnamese women's volleyball team to determine the champion of the first round of SEA V.League 2025.
