The National U18 team is actively training at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center ( Hanoi ) to prepare for the U18 Seoul EOU Cup 2023 friendly tournament. In this tournament, U18 Vietnam will meet U18 Morocco on October 10, U18 Ukraine on October 12 and U18 Korea on October 15.

In the upcoming tournament in Korea, Coach Hoang Anh Tuan continues to give opportunities to players who are only 16 and 17 years old with the goal of nurturing and creating conditions for as many players as possible to compete with strong opponents. Sharing about this, the captain of the U18 Vietnam team said: “At this age, the players still have a lot to improve. The coaching staff is trying to correct their skills and reshape their playing style because each club has different training philosophies. The coaching staff's task is to bring them back to a common orbit, to the playing style that the national team is aiming for. When they have good technique, then we can talk about tactics and playing style. In addition, another factor that needs to be mentioned is the foundation of Asians and Vietnamese people. Compared to advanced national teams, we still have a certain gap. For example, when U18 Vietnam competes with U18 Korea, U18 Ukraine and U18 Morocco, we will see that they are superior to us. Of course, the physical problem needs time to improve.”
Coach Hoang Anh Tuan affirmed that quality friendly tournaments like this are very useful for young players. Being able to compete with opponents who are ranked higher than Vietnam on the FIFA rankings is a condition for our young players to draw lessons for themselves in the development process. At the same time, further, it helps young players hone their competitive spirit and aim for a place in the national team in the future.
The friction at international tournaments will help a lot in the development of young players.
