According to Neowin , Bungie released the first Destiny game in 2014, and then the company continued to release the sequel in 2017, Destiny 2. Both games in the sci-fi first-person shooter series have had a number of expansions that continue the complex and vast lore of the franchise. Now, Bungie is getting closer to a major turning point in the game's universe.

On August 15, Bungie revealed the dates for the studio's latest 'Destiny 2 Showcase' livestream event. The show will begin with a pre-show at 11 a.m. ET, followed by the main show at 12:45 p.m. All events will be broadcast on Destiny 's YouTube and Twitch channels.
The Destiny 2 Showcase will provide the first details on the 'The Last Shape' expansion, which Bungie is billing as the conclusion to the game's 'Light and Darkness Saga'. It's expected to release for Destiny 2 sometime in early 2024.
The online showcase will also likely reveal the first details of Season 22, which will launch in the near future before the 'The Final Shape' expansion arrives.
