On the evening of May 14, Hanoi Police were held to a regrettable 2-2 draw by Buriram United in the first leg of the Shopee Cup 2024-2025 (Southeast Asian Club Cup) final. Notably, the Vietnamese representative took the lead twice but let the opponent equalize.

This draw makes it difficult for the police team in the second leg in Thailand.

It is worth mentioning that in addition to the match results, the collision of players on the field also made fans interested. In particular, Theerathon Bunmathan of Buriram United left an ugly situation.

In the 41st minute, the Thai defender had a dirty play with Quang Hai, causing the midfielder of Cong An Ha Noi to lie on the ground in pain. Afterwards, Bunmathan received a yellow card for his foul play.

Bunmathan was nicknamed "king of tricks" by Southeast Asian football fans because of his ugly football plays.

While playing for the national team, this defender has often used dirty tricks on Vietnamese players.

At the end of the match, midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai of Hanoi Police was voted the best player of the match by the organizers.
