Turning point for Ancelotti's son

Davide Ancelotti will be making his first appearance as a coach at a top club.

The Guardian reports that negotiations between Davide Ancelotti and the Rangers board are almost complete. The Scottish club is confident that Davide Ancelotti will be announced as the team's head coach this week.

According to AS , the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF)'s announcement of the signing of Carlo Ancelotti paves the way for Davide, the Italian coach's assistant at Real Madrid, to soon reach an agreement with Rangers this month.

On May 12, Carlo Ancelotti became the first foreign coach in history to lead the Brazilian men's football team. He will begin his tenure in the 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign, with the goal of leading the "Selecao" to win the gold cup for the 6th time.

With Carlo Ancelotti moving to Brazil, his current Real Madrid coaching staff will also leave the Bernabeu. Davide is expected to continue to support Carlo Ancelotti when he leads Brazil in matches against Ecuador (June 6) and Paraguay (June 10).

He will then head to Ibrox for pre-season with Rangers. Notably, Davide will bring Francesco Mauri, a key member of Carlo Ancelotti's backroom staff, to work as his assistant in the Scottish Premiership.

Davide had previously turned down offers from clubs in Saudi Arabia to join Rangers. The coach had ambitions of leading a club with a rich tradition in Europe, where he would have the opportunity to prove his ability and escape the shadow of his father.

Davide Ancelotti has left his mark as Carlo Ancelotti's number one assistant at Real Madrid for many seasons. Born in 1989, Davide pursued a career as a player but was unsuccessful and soon switched to coaching.

Davide started assisting his father at PSG in 2012, as a fitness coach. By 2013, he had started working closely with Ancelotti at Real, Bayern, Napoli, Everton and now Real. Davide is a modern coach, knowledgeable about technology, so he is a great supporter of Carlo Ancelotti in adjusting tactics.
