On August 22, the leaders of Khanh Hoa University (Khanh Hoa province) confirmed that the school had issued a disciplinary decision to expel female student N., majoring in mathematics education, for using a fake TOEIC English certificate to submit for graduation in May.
"Forcing a student to leave school before graduating is a very regrettable and painful thing. However, when establishing a disciplinary council and following the regulations, the disciplinary level that must be applied is forced expulsion," said the leader of Khanh Hoa University.
In addition to being forced to drop out of school, student N. must return all assets borrowed from the school and reimburse the training costs for the 2021-2025 period of 20 million VND.
According to the leaders of Khanh Hoa University, this is the first time the school has discovered students using fake foreign language certificates to graduate.
Previously, the school had warned about this many times, and clearly stated that all foreign language certificates submitted for graduation were sent to the degree-granting unit for checking and authentication.
Khanh Hoa University is a public university, under the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province. The school currently has 2 campuses located in Nha Trang ward and Bac Nha Trang ward.
Khanh Hoa University was established on the basis of merging Nha Trang Pedagogical College and Nha Trang College of Culture - Arts and Tourism, with the goal of developing multidisciplinary education to meet local and regional needs.
