Building a new data center
Faced with the need to exploit and process huge amounts of data, the new Data Center of Vietnam Post was started as a strategic step to build a comprehensive digital transformation infrastructure platform for the Corporation.
The center is designed according to international standards (Tier III), high-speed, secure multi-line network connection, ensuring 24/7 continuous operation. The information security monitoring system is deployed according to ISO 27001 standards; the server system and network equipment ensure synchronous and modern security, providing computing capacity to more than 1,000 virtualized servers, storing hundreds of Petabytes of data.
The center will meet the requirements of deploying new technologies such as Big Data, AI, IoT... In particular, the private cloud computing infrastructure not only serves internally, but is also designed to be open so that in the future it can provide public cloud and multi-cloud computing services for businesses and customers in the market.
The Vietnam Post Digital Tradition Room was also officially inaugurated on this occasion, becoming a symbolic project, a place to preserve and connect the heroic 80-year memories of the Postal industry with the aspiration for comprehensive digital transformation in the new era.
In particular, the 3D Electronic Tradition Room provides a virtual tour experience, allowing detailed viewing of artifacts, images, video illustrations and remote navigation of museum spaces.
Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang, Chairman of the Board of Members of Vietnam Post Corporation, affirmed that all three projects of the postal industry this time are digital technology projects, not only creating the future but also being a touch point to connect and spread the past.
"Vietnam Post will create new breakthroughs to ensure material flow with four driving forces: new organizational model, new economic mechanism, new service ecosystem and comprehensive digital transformation," Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang emphasized.
At the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Pham Duc Long said that among the 250 projects that were started and inaugurated to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day, Vietnam Post had 3 projects, demonstrating careful preparation for the country's important event. This is an honor because not many corporations and general companies have projects selected to be included in this event. Vietnam Post was selected to be in step with the country's progress as it enters a new era: Wealthy, powerful and prosperous.
Accordingly, the Deputy Minister requested Vietnam Post to carry out the two projects that started today well, completing them on schedule and with quality. The Ministry will continue to support the postal sector in the upcoming development journey and always accompany the sector to overcome any difficulties.
Deputy Minister Pham Duc Long affirmed that Postal services - postal infrastructure is an important infrastructure in the business sector and promoting infrastructure development ensures the promotion of postal ecosystems.
The Ministry of Science and Technology will accompany the Corporation to continue promoting the value of creating solid foundations and the development of the industry and the country in the new era.
