According to information from the Ca Mau Department of Health, in implementing the directives of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee on concretizing the objectives of Resolution 72/TW of the Politburo on some breakthrough solutions to strengthen the protection, care, and improvement of people's health, the Department of Health has advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue a plan and organize the implementation of 3 rounds of health check-ups and screenings for people in 64 communes and wards of the province.

The third phase of the campaign was launched simultaneously in all 64 communes and wards of the province. Five locations held direct launch ceremonies with the participation of leaders from the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee: U Minh commune, Dam Doi commune, Dat Mui commune, Song Doc commune, and Bac Lieu ward.

A highlight of this campaign was the collaborative effort of medical professionals from various units within and outside the province. The Department of Health connected with and mobilized Le Van Thinh Hospital to provide free eye examinations and surgeries for over 150 residents of Dam Doi commune based on the results of the first and second rounds of health check-ups and screenings. In addition, lecturers and students from Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy participated in organizing the screening on May 30, 2026. The Department of Health also mobilized maximum resources from the public and private healthcare systems and students from Ca Mau College of Health and Bac Lieu College of Health to serve the people.
Previously, on April 15, 2026, the Department of Health, in coordination with the Department of Education and Training and other relevant units, launched the first phase of a health check-up program for 277,788 students aged 6 to 15 at primary and secondary schools across all 64 communes and wards; providing school health care advice and timely referral for treatment of any detected illnesses.
Following the launch ceremony, the sector continued to provide medical examinations for the elderly, people with disabilities, beneficiaries of social policies, and self-employed workers in the area.

Phase 2, on May 15, 2026, was organized at 21 locations, including 18 commune/ward health stations, the Ca Mau Social Protection Center, the Bac Lieu Social Protection Center, and the Ca Mau Mental Health Care Center. Following the launch ceremony, the Department continued to conduct health check-ups and screenings for 34,381 people across all 64 communes and wards of the province. The target group included all residents, with priority given to the elderly, poor and near-poor households, people with disabilities, children, women, workers, and policy beneficiaries.
Alongside direct medical examination and treatment activities, the Ca Mau Health Department is stepping up multimedia communication to raise public awareness of the benefits of regular health check-ups, while also promoting the updating of electronic health records for citizens and implementing digital transformation solutions throughout the sector.
These efforts not only help detect diseases early and reduce the financial burden of treatment for people, but also realize the goal of building a healthy and sustainable community.
