On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day Police On the occasion of the Vietnamese people's anniversary (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025), and looking forward to the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), on the afternoon of August 12, singer Nguyen Duyen Quynh officially released the MV "Swearing for Peace," composed by musician Nguyen Van Chung.
The artwork is a simple yet solemn tribute to the People's Public Security Force, portraying the enduring beauty, discipline, and spirit of serving the people of the soldiers in peacetime.
The inspiration for "A Vow for Peace" came in the scorching April sun, amidst the intense training sessions of the units participating in the A50 parade formation. After performances and exchanges at the training grounds, composer Nguyen Van Chung had the opportunity to closely observe the training sessions, shooting practice, martial arts training, and the perfectly synchronized marching steps. There, he witnessed the concentration, the persistent sweat, and the silent pride on the faces of the young soldiers.
These everyday details, simple and without embellishment, are enough to awaken emotions and inspire the artist to pick up their pen.
According to the composer, the song wasn't born from a commissioned task, but from an inner urge upon encountering reality. This inspiration met the persistent creative flow of singer Nguyen Duyen Quynh, who recently released the project "Continuing the Story of Peace" and frequently visits units and training grounds to sing, listen, and empathize. At A50, Quynh's simple voice resonated many times under the scorching sun, alongside the rhythmic marching and resounding shouts of the formation. It was there that the first notes of the song seemed to be "called upon."
Composer Nguyen Van Chung shared: "I don't write based on templates, but on what I see and feel. There were moments on the training ground that made me realize: A song must be a vow of peace, not just praise."
When the audio version was complete, Nguyen Duyen Quynh could have settled on a polished recording. But she chose a different path: bringing the song back to the very space that evoked its emotions. For Quynh, "singing to express gratitude to the country" is not just a slogan, but a way to get closer to the stories of those who wear the soldier's uniform, and a way for music to touch real life.
"A Vow for Peace" was created as a music video with "zero" production costs, but "priceless" in terms of emotion and unity.
This product was made possible thanks to the dedicated support of many units within the armed forces, ensuring that the song not only remained in an audio version but was also recreated in the very context where the emotions originated: the training ground, the classroom, the martial arts practice area, the shooting practice, the drill formation – places where young people train themselves for the peace of the people.
The music video "Vow for Peace," directed by Dang Xuan Truong, emphasizes authenticity, restraint, and expressiveness in its visual style. The work has official media sponsorship from the Sports and Culture Newspaper (Vietnam News Agency).
For director Dang Xuan Truong, the music video is not just a series of scenes illustrating the lyrics, but a short film with strong cinematic qualities, where images become the language of emotion, light becomes the material of memory, and the editing rhythm closely follows the rhythm of the training ground.
The central visual axis is the journey of a female police cadet – a symbol of today's generation continuing the tradition. The character passes through various learning and training spaces: theoretical classes, shooting ranges, martial arts training grounds, drill formations, parade squares…
Director Dang Xuan Truong briefly shared his creative philosophy: "We didn't recreate the heroism with a backdrop, but let the steadfastness shine through in their eyes, their footsteps, and their sweat."
Behind the flawless image of singer Nguyen Duyen Quynh in the music video is the silent yet resolute support of the officers, lecturers, and students of the People's Security College I. They don't appear merely as "actors," but are truly professional advisors, "rhythm keepers" for professional accuracy, and "teammates" on set.
