Singer Le Hai - wife of artist Vu Thanh passed away suddenly

Sharing with VietNamNet , artist Vu Thanh said that his wife - singer Le Hai - was hospitalized in the past few days. Despite intensive treatment, her health gradually weakened, and doctors predicted that she would not survive. Today, May 21, the female singer was brought home at 5:30 p.m., and passed away at 6 p.m.

According to Vu Thanh, his wife fell ill in November 2024 with diseases such as arthritis, cerebral edema, pneumonia, and enteritis. She had to go in and out of the hospital many times due to unusual health complications.

Doctors performed brain surgery on singer Le Hai. After the surgery, she was somewhat conscious, but her physical condition did not improve.

For the past few months, Vu Thanh has been shouldering the cost of his wife's treatment, hospital fees and expensive living expenses, leaving him in a difficult situation. They have received support from relatives and some close friends to cover some of the expenses.

"From the time my wife got sick until she passed away, it was only 7 months. I never thought of giving up, I tried my best to help my wife overcome it. But everything happened so suddenly, it shocked me," he said.

Singer Le Hai's funeral was held at the artist couple's rented house on Pham The Hien Street, District 8, Ho Chi Minh City. Due to his single-parent family, Vu Thanh was assisted by some colleagues and grandchildren in arranging his wife's funeral.

The artist couple is still happy despite their poor life.

Le Hai used to be a famous lounge singer, possessing skillful dancing. She and artist Vu Thanh have been married for more than 40 years, and have a son who is nearly 40 years old. In addition, the male artist also has a 30-year-old stepchild living in Hue .

The two rented a room for many years due to financial constraints. Later, Le Hai stepped back to support her husband and opened a noodle shop to earn extra income.
