The diving team from Hoang Loi (Nhon Ly Peninsula) reported that a whale appeared near Bai Bac headland (Nhon Ly Peninsula) at 6:30 AM on May 17th.
According to Mr. Loi, the moment the whale rises to hunt happens quickly, continuously opening its large mouth to swallow schools of small fish. On the surface of the sea, many seagulls swoop down in large numbers to "share" the prey, creating a vibrant natural scene.

According to observations by divers, this is a mature whale, approximately 8 meters long and weighing over 10 tons. Based on the recorded images, this whale may be a Bryde's whale, a species that has been frequently seen in the South Central coastal waters in recent years.
Earlier, on May 15th, many tourists also spotted a pair of Bryde's whales in the waters near Cu Lao Mai Nha Island (O Loan commune, Dak Lak province). According to images recorded by tourists, one whale was over 10 meters long, and the other was about 6-7 meters long.

In April 2026, whale sightings were continuously recorded in the waters off Lam Dong province, with whales sometimes moving in herds of dozens of individuals.
