This magnificent and rare sight left many people in awe. In particular, numerous photographers and locals flocked to the coastal area hoping to witness firsthand the moment the whales surfaced from the turquoise waters.

Ms. Cao Diem, a photographer from Ho Chi Minh City, was present in Nhon Ly ward early in the morning to capture this special moment. Sharing her experience, she said: “I have traveled to many places to photograph nature, but this is the first time I have witnessed a giant whale surfacing just a few dozen meters from the boat. My heart stopped when my lens captured the moment it lunged to swallow a school of anchovies in the deep blue water. It was a rare and magical moment.”

Not only photographers, but also those in the tourism industry see this as a golden opportunity to spread the natural beauty of the central coastal region. Nguyen Hoang Loi, a community tourism guide in Nhon Ly ward, shared: “I’ve been in this profession for many years, but I’ve never seen tourists as excited as this time. Many people were overwhelmed with joy when they saw whales appear offshore, then suddenly surface to hunt right before their eyes.”

Experts believe that the appearance of the Bryde's whale near the shore is a positive sign indicating that the marine ecosystem in Gia Lai is recovering well, with abundant food sources, especially schools of anchovies and scad, species that whales often prey on. At the same time, it serves as a reminder to people to preserve and protect the marine environment so that such miraculous moments can continue to occur.
