Recently, the Military Arts Troupe of Military Region 1 undertook an extended performance tour at the 3rd Division, Military Region 1, and several other locations in Bac Giang province, such as Military Hospital 110 and in front of quarantine areas. The tour left a deep impression on the artists and soldiers in the troupe.

Lieutenant Lam Bao Ngoc, a professional soldier and young singer, recounted that, following instructions from the Military Region leadership, the artists and soldiers always wore protective clothing throughout their mission to ensure their own safety and the safety of others. The performance took place in mid-June, during a period of intense heat with temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius, and also at a time when the Covid-19 pandemic was raging in Bac Giang and Bac Ninh provinces . The protective clothing left an unforgettable impression on her.

Lam Bao Ngoc shared: “Normally, when performing, we all want to look beautiful and youthful in front of the audience. However, performing in a pandemic-stricken area, witnessing the officers, soldiers, doctors, nurses, and medical staff wearing protective clothing standing in the scorching sun doing their duties, I deeply admire and empathize with the difficulties and hardships of the frontline forces fighting the pandemic. We don't consider this a difficult task, but rather a great fortune for artists, to experience it firsthand, to create meaningful artistic products with spiritual value at a time when everyone's spirit of solidarity is being promoted to serve the army and the people.”

Reportedly, despite this trip being to an epidemic zone, many young artists volunteered to participate. Lieutenant Colonel, Meritorious Artist Duong Thi Kim Ngan, the group leader, is a mother raising a child less than a year old, but she also led a group of 10 artists heading to the epidemic zone.

In addition to performing at the gates of hospitals and quarantine areas, the troupe also carried out filming tasks in hospitals and quarantine areas, reflecting the work of doctors and nurses such as guiding, taking test samples, and vaccinating people; on the streets with images of military vehicles spraying disinfectant; and logistics officers and soldiers diligently preparing thousands of meals...

The artists' work often begins at 3 a.m. and lasts until midnight. That's also around the time that frontline workers begin their work.

These images were captured in the musical film "Thank You to the Frontline Stars," directed by Major Le Anh Thuy, a musician from the Military Arts Troupe of Military Region 1. Major Le Anh Thuy stated that all five songs featured in the film are new compositions by artists within the troupe and the military region.

The musical film opens with the song "There's a Job Called High-Paying" by Captain Vu Van Quoc, Deputy Political Officer of Battalion 1, Regiment 2, Division 3, Military Region 1. The song recounts the everyday stories of his comrades, those who are protecting the Fatherland day and night, as well as those who have fallen for the peace of the country. The film also includes the songs "Victory Troops" by Duong Duc; "Vietnamese Stars" by Dao Hong Quan; the rap song "Mission from the Heart" by Mui Thai; and "Thank You to the Frontline Stars" by Le Anh Thuy.

The film's theme song features many artists from across the military, including: Singer Viet Danh (Army Song and Dance Theatre), singer Khanh Hoa (Navy Performing Arts Troupe), singer Le Nhung (Border Guard Performing Arts Troupe), singer Tien Lam (Military Region 4 Performing Arts Troupe), singer Hoang Nghiep (Military Region 9 Performing Arts Troupe)... In addition, there are messages of gratitude, encouragement, and support for the frontline forces fighting the pandemic, promising a bright future, from Miss Vietnam runner-up and MC Thuy Van; MC My Lan; singer Quang Dung; singer Hoang Hong Ngoc...

Therefore, "Thank you to the frontline stars" is not just an expression of gratitude, but also reflects the emotions, understanding, and affection of those on the home front for the frontline workers who are working tirelessly to fight the pandemic across the country.
