This is the first day that the new provinces and cities put into operation the two-level local government apparatus – a historical milestone in the process of building a developed, modern and strong nation. In the spirit of innovation, hundreds of pagodas in Hung Yen province also rang their bells and drums in unison. The three bells and drums rang not only to wake up a good morning, but also to awaken mindfulness in each person.
With the spirit of "Buddhism accompanies the nation", all pagodas and monasteries across the country organized solemn chanting and praying ceremonies, spreading the message of peace, solidarity and patriotism.
In Buddhism, the bell is a call to awaken. Wherever the bell rings, peace follows. Each bell and drum sound not only resonates in space, but also stirs the inner self, awakening wisdom and compassion. The bell and drum seem to join the heartbeat of the nation in a new beginning, spreading awareness, harmony, and unity in building a bright future.
The Church also promotes the spirit of innovation, streamlining, and amending the charter, keeping up with the trend of operating a two-level government - so that the Dharma continues to bring benefits and is closer to the lives of monks, nuns, Buddhists, and people nationwide.
The sound of the early morning bells and drums – resounding and powerful – contributed to lighting up faith, stirring up the spirit, bringing the sacred spirit of the mountains and rivers together with the vitality of the nation. That was the sacred moment when religion and life met on the path towards prosperity and happiness for all people.
