Communes in Khanh Vinh area prepare response plan for storm No. 15

Faced with the forecast of complicated developments of storm No. 15 that could potentially affect Khanh Hoa province, since November 25, communes in Khanh Vinh area have been proactively implementing response plans and options.

Ms. Le Thi Kim Hoa - Chairman of Nam Khanh Vinh Commune People's Committee, said that on the afternoon of November 25, the Commune Civil Defense Steering Committee held a meeting, assigned tasks to each member in charge of each village and residential area; directed propaganda and information on the storm's developments and proactive response plans; based on the situation of the areas affected by the recent flood, urgently checked and carefully reviewed the situation of people's houses and supported people to reinforce and brace. By noon on November 26, the villages had completed the work of braced houses for people. Along with that, the locality proactively reviewed and adjusted plans and scenarios to respond to specific situations, paying special attention to the plan to evacuate people in vulnerable areas, arrange safe facilities and ensure food for 5-7 days for people to take shelter in case of emergency.

Tay Khanh Vinh commune has a complex terrain. Therefore, right at the meeting to deploy storm response work No. 15 on the afternoon of November 25, the locality assigned specific tasks to each member of the Commune Civil Defense Steering Committee according to the general plan; at the same time, assigned the Chairman and 2 Vice Chairmen of the Commune People's Committee to directly take charge of storm prevention and control work in each area and assigned tasks to local forces in charge of each residential area.

The locality has also deployed preparations for safe facilities, with plans to ensure food for people to evacuate and take shelter for 7-10 days; at the same time, conducting a review and purchasing more life jackets to distribute to people in areas at risk of deep flooding and rapidly rising floodwaters with the quantity of 1 for each person and will distribute to people on November 27; purchasing ropes to tie knots in advance for use in rescue work for people when situations occur during storms and floods.
