How to check battery health on Android phones

Most modern mobile phone batteries are lithium batteries. These batteries degrade over time in both charging cycles and capacity. While Android allows users to view detailed battery capacity information, it doesn't indicate battery degradation. This article will guide you on how to accurately check your phone's battery degradation.

Check directly on your phone.

Method 1: Check the battery for 60 minutes. Note: Before performing the battery health check, you need to fully charge your phone to 100% and turn off WiFi and 3G/4G mobile data connections.

Step 1: Go to "Settings," select "Display," and drag the "Brightness" slider to the highest level.

Step 2: Under "Screen", select "Screen timeout", then choose 30 minutes.

Step 3: Keep the screen on continuously for 60 minutes. After 60 minutes, if the remaining battery level is greater than 85%, your battery is in very good condition. Note that you need to wait about 30 minutes before turning the screen on again, as some devices do not display the 60-minute screen-on time.

Method 2: Test the battery within 8 hours.

Step 1: You need to charge your phone battery to 100%.

Step 2: Disconnect from WiFi and turn off 3G/4G mobile data on your phone.

Step 3: Leave the phone for 8 hours. After 8 hours, if the remaining battery level is greater than 90%, then the phone's battery is working very well.

Check using the AccuBattery app.

Step 1: Download and install the AccuBattery - Battery app on your phone.

Step 2: Open the app and tap the "Health" tab.

Step 3: The application displays the battery health status. If it's above 80%, it means the battery is working well; if it's below 70%, the battery is worn out and should be replaced.
