The method of calculating admission scores for grade 10 high school from the 2025-2026 school year has changed compared to current regulations. This is a regulation in Circular No. 30/2024/TT-BGDDT on regulations for admission to junior high school and high school, recently issued by the Ministry of Education and Training.

According to Circular No. 30 on junior high school and high school admissions recently announced by the Ministry of Education and Training , there are 3 methods of admission to grade 10: entrance exam, selection or a combination of entrance exam and selection. The selection of admission method is under the authority of the locality.

Regarding the entrance exam method for grade 10, the national regulations are unified on the implementation of 3 subjects and exams, including: Math, Literature and a third subject or exam selected by the Department of Education and Training. The third subject and exam will be announced after the end of the first semester but no later than March 31 every year.

Regarding the exam duration of each subject, literature is 120 minutes, math is 90 or 120 minutes, the third subject is 60 or 90 minutes, and the combined exam is 90 or 120 minutes.

The exam content is within the general education program of junior high school, mainly the 9th grade program. The method of calculating the admission score to grade 10 is clearly regulated by the Ministry of Education and Training: The admission score is the total score of the subjects and exams calculated on a 10-point scale for each subject and exam.

Thus, with the new regulations, the Ministry of Education and Training stipulates a unified way to calculate admission scores and test coefficients.
