The Dragon Bridge had a total construction investment cost of over 1,700 billion VND. Construction began in July 2009, and at the time of its inauguration, it was the only single-arch (one-plane) bridge in Southeast Asia.

The bridge has a total length of 666m, a width of 37.5m, and 6 lanes; its highlight is the design featuring a 560m long steel dragon flying over the bridge's surface.

The Dragon Bridge opened to traffic on March 29, 2013, to commemorate the 38th anniversary of the liberation of Da Nang city.

The Dragon Bridge is one of the most uniquely designed bridges in Vietnam, serving as the shortest route connecting Da Nang International Airport with major city thoroughfares and My Khe Beach.

Not only does it serve as a vital transportation artery of the city, the Dragon Bridge, with its architecture mimicking a Ly Dynasty dragon soaring out to sea, is one of the symbols of Da Nang city.

Nighttime is the best time to admire the Dragon Bridge. With 15,000 LED lights illuminating the entire bridge, it transforms into a true dragon with a dazzling array of colors.

On Saturday and Sunday evenings, as well as during holidays and festivals, locals and tourists have the opportunity to watch the unique steel dragon breathe fire and spray water.

For tourists visiting Da Nang, watching the Dragon Bridge spew fire and water is one of the most exciting experiences.

Da Nang is not only a destination for beautiful beaches, ancient temples, and delicious food, but also a venue for famous international events such as the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival.
Once a year, fireworks teams from around the world gather to participate in the biggest fireworks competition of the year in Da Nang. The fireworks displays take place on the Han River; therefore, the Dragon Bridge is a great spot to watch the fireworks for free.
