A representative of the Tay Ho District People's Committee said that after receiving instructions from the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, the district is studying a plan to replenish water for West Lake, then lead water into the To Lich River.

The immediate plan is to utilize treated wastewater from the West Lake Wastewater Treatment Plant, through the intermediate lake, Sen Lake, and then bring water from West Lake to the To Lich River.

According to the reporter's records, Sen Lake is a lake located near West Lake (in Dam Bay area, Nhat Tan ward). This is a famous place for taking photos and checking in because the lake is planted with a lot of lotus in the summer.

At present, the lake is almost dry.

A representative of Nhat Tan Ward People's Committee said that normally at this time the lotus lake is drained, and next month it will be pumped back in for the lotus to bloom.

Regarding Sen Lake, this person said that the lake has an area of ​​about 5.2 hectares, and was leased by the Hanoi Department of Natural Resources and Environment to the West Lake Investment and Exploitation Joint Stock Company for 20 years. This unit uses and pays annual land rent.

Next to Sen Lake there is another lake being used as a fishing lake.

Tay Ho District People's Committee proposed Hanoi City People's Committee to reclaim Sen Lake land to make a settling lake, an intermediate in the process of adding water to West Lake, then bringing water to clean To Lich River.

According to the proposed plan of Tay Ho district, wastewater around West Lake will be collected and treated at the West Lake wastewater treatment plant. After treatment, the water will go through the plant's filter tank, continue to flow through Sen Lake for sedimentation, and then flow into West Lake. Depending on the regulation of West Lake (dry season at 5.2m and rainy season at 5.7m) to replenish water for To Lich River.

With a long-term plan, the Hanoi People's Committee assigned the Department of Construction to preside over and coordinate with the Tay Ho District People's Committee to review related plans and propose a plan to supplement water from the Red River to the To Lich River along Vo Chi Cong Street, connecting with the water supplementation in the immediate phase that has been implemented, ensuring both supplementing water to the To Lich River and regulating the stable water level of West Lake.
