Scheduled to debut this fall, the new 2026 Toyota Corolla features a streamlined lineup as the FX Edition is dropped for 2026. That's not the only change, as the value-priced LE and SE trims now get a 7-inch digital instrument cluster. Although quite small in size compared to modern standards, the 2026 Toyota Corolla is considered a significant step forward compared to the current generation with the old analog clock and 4.2-inch multi-information screen.
For the top-of-the-line Corolla XSE, the digital instrument cluster has been upgraded to a 12.3-inch screen, replacing the previous 7-inch screen, giving the car a more modern look. This larger screen will also be equipped as an option for the SE version. In addition to the new display, the Corolla now comes standard with Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. Users can also rest assured with the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 driver assistance technology package, including full-speed radar cruise control, lane keeping assist, active steering assist, lane departure warning with power steering, and an emergency braking system with pedestrian warning.
Power comes from a familiar 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder engine that produces 169 horsepower and 205 Nm of torque. Combined with a continuously variable transmission, the Corolla achieves fuel consumption of up to 7.35 liters/100 km in the city, 5.73 liters/100 km on the highway, and 6.72 liters/100 km on average. Despite many improvements, the selling price of the 2026 Corolla LE only increased by $400 compared to the previous version, similar to the SE and XSE versions also increased by $400. The 2026 Corolla Hybrid also gets a similar upgrade, with a new digital instrument cluster and standard blind spot monitoring. Pricing starts at $24,575, up $750 from the previous model.
This model features a 1.8-liter 4-cylinder hybrid engine, giving a total output of 138 horsepower. The impressive fuel consumption reaches 4.4 liters / 100 km in the city, 5.1 liters / 100 km on the highway, and 4.7 liters / 100 km average. The Corolla Hybrid also has an optional all-wheel drive system, AWD, which costs an additional $1,400 on LE and SE versions. This system adds an electric motor to the rear to increase performance when needed.
