The program was attended by representatives of central and city leaders, departments, branches, organizations, and more than 1,300 union members, youth, armed forces of the capital, relatives of martyrs, and people with revolutionary contributions.

Speaking at the program, Deputy Secretary in charge of the City Youth Union, Chairman of the Vietnam Student Association of Hanoi Nguyen Tien Hung said: Promoting the tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source", "Repaying gratitude", commemorating the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, the city's youth union members have actively implemented many meaningful activities, with the peak from July 20 to 27, such as: Simultaneously organizing "Green Sunday" to volunteer to clean the environment, repair and decorate steles, memorials, memorial houses and martyrs' cemeteries; planting more trees, creating a green, clean and beautiful environment; organizing activities to visit, give gifts, and take care of the health of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, war invalids, sick soldiers, and martyrs' families...

"Every action and every deed shows the sentiment and responsibility of today's youth to show gratitude for the enormous sacrifices and contributions of previous generations," said comrade Nguyen Tien Hung.
According to the Deputy Secretary in charge of the Hanoi Youth Union, years have passed, but the heroic spirit of the martyrs still resonates forever. The indomitable spirit of previous generations is the sacred flame that lights the path of today's youth.
“With all our hearts and infinite gratitude, the youth of the Capital today vow to follow in the footsteps of previous generations of pioneers, volunteers, and contributors, to build and protect the Fatherland to become increasingly rich and powerful, to continue writing the golden pages of the nation’s history in the new era, the era of the Vietnamese people’s rise,” emphasized comrade Nguyen Tien Hung.


At the program, the City Youth Union - Vietnam Youth Union presented 20 gifts of gratitude to wounded and sick soldiers (each gift included cash and gifts), along with 78 restored portraits of martyrs and gifts to the martyrs' relatives.
Immediately afterwards, delegates and a large number of union members and youths in the capital lit candles, offered incense and flowers at the graves of 2,200 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and Heroic Martyrs resting at the city's Martyrs' Cemetery.



Also on the evening of July 26, candle lighting ceremonies to pay tribute to heroic martyrs were simultaneously held by the Youth Union at all levels and youth of the capital at all cemeteries and martyrs' memorials in the city.
The activities of the Capital's youth on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day are one of the important contents of the 2025 Youth Volunteer Summer Campaign; affirming the role and responsibility of the youth in inheriting and promoting revolutionary traditions; at the same time educating the young generation about gratitude, expressing deep gratitude to the previous generation who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the nation.
