Can Tho auctions off land use rights for 23 plots of land.

The People's Committee of Can Tho City has just issued a Decision approving the plan and list of land plots for auctioning land use rights in 2026 within the city.

Accordingly, the land use rights auction plan for 2026 in the city includes 23 land plots, with a total area of ​​approximately 1,114,268.90 m2; of which, 17 land plots with a total area of ​​approximately 932,011.30 m2 were approved in 2025 but have not yet completed the auction procedures, and will be carried over to 2026; and 6 land plots with a total area of ​​approximately 182,257.60 m2 are newly registered for auction in 2026.

The People's Committee of Can Tho City noted that if the land plots are not successfully auctioned by the end of 2026, the City's Land Fund Development Center is responsible for reporting, clarifying the reasons, proposing solutions, and suggesting a course of action in accordance with regulations.

The People's Committee of Can Tho City assigns the City's Land Fund Development Center to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies and units to announce the plan and list of land plots for auctioning land use rights in 2026 on the National Land Use Rights Auction Information Portal, the City People's Committee's Electronic Information Portal, and the Electronic Information Portals of communes and wards, as prescribed.

At the same time, implement procedures and organize land use right auctions in accordance with legal regulations.

According to the People's Committee of Can Tho City, the purpose of auctioning the aforementioned land plots is to effectively utilize public land in accordance with regulations, increase revenue for the city's budget, supplement capital for public investment and social welfare; and improve the efficiency of land use rights auctions in the city.

In addition, it addresses the land use needs of organizations and individuals for investment in the socio -economic development of the city; and addresses the housing needs and improves the quality of housing for the people.

The large land plots subject to land use rights auction include: the land plot for the construction of educational and training facilities in the urban area on both sides of Nguyen Van Cu Street (section from Cai Son - Hang Bang to Provincial Road 923), in An Binh Ward, with an area of ​​66,332 m2; the comprehensive service and logistics area of ​​Cai Cui Wharf (road leading to Cai Cui Port, Hung Phu Ward), with an area of ​​over 134,621 m2; the land reclaimed from Soc Trang Urban Construction Joint Stock Company (land for waste treatment facilities, in My Huong Commune), with an area of ​​55,000 m2; a portion of the land reclaimed from Nam Viet University (National Highway 60, Soc Trang Ward), with an area of ​​50,000 m2; and the alluvial land plot - sandbar in the Can Tho River (in the middle of the Hau River, viewed from Ninh Kieu Wharf, in Hung Phu Ward), with an area of ​​170,042 m2.
