Quang Tri Airport is a domestic airport with dual civilian and military use, covering a total area of over 316 hectares, with a projected total investment of approximately 8,014 billion VND.
Based on the Prime Minister's approval in April 2021 to assign the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee to organize the preparation of a pre-feasibility study report and submit it to the competent authority for a decision on the investment policy for the Quang Tri airport project under the public-private partnership (PPP) method;
T&T Group Joint Stock Company has coordinated with relevant units to organize and complete the investment project proposal dossier for submission to the Prime Minister and relevant central ministries and agencies for consideration and approval of the investment policy within the prescribed timeframe.
According to the decision approving the detailed planning of Quang Tri Airport for the period up to 2030 in Gio Quang and Gio Mai communes, Gio Linh district, by the Ministry of Transport; Quang Tri Airport is a domestic airport with dual civilian and military use, covering a total area of over 316 hectares.
Specifically, the civil aviation area covers over 87 hectares, the military land area covers over 51 hectares, and the shared area covers over 177 hectares. The airport is classified as a 4C type according to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standard code and a Level II military airport, with a capacity of 1 million passengers per year and 3,100 tons of cargo per year.
The initial estimate for the total investment in the project to build Quang Tri airport to meet the planned scale is approximately 8,014 billion VND.
