First and foremost, there is potential in the industrial sector, with enormous reserves of minerals, titanium, green energy, and renewable energy. Specifically, Lam Dong possesses approximately 5.4 billion tons of bauxite raw material.

It is expected that on July 2nd, 2026, Lam Dong province will see the first batches of aluminum produced in Vietnam, specifically in Nhan Co commune.

High-tech agriculture is also one of Lam Dong's leading advantages. The province currently has one of the largest areas of agricultural land in the country, with a scale of over 1.054 million hectares, of which over 1.1 million hectares are forest.

Lam Dong's potential and advantages extend from the highlands down to the coast.

Lam Dong also has great tourism development potential, with many harmonious elements of forest and sea. Many new tourism models are attracting a large number of visitors, such as: ecotourism, forest tourism, farm tourism, sightseeing and relaxation tourism, medical tourism, etc.

At the workshop, many solutions, orientations, mechanisms, and specific policies from 15 experts, scientists, and businesses were discussed quite actively. The focus was on promoting the role of economic sectors and innovating growth models based on the potential and advantages of each locality.

Regarding tourism, one of Lam Dong's key sectors, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Ky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietravel Tourism Joint Stock Company, believes that Lam Dong possesses all the necessary elements to elevate the development of its tourism industry. This will serve as a basis for the locality to attract high-quality technology and artificial intelligence centers.

Regarding the implementation of special mechanisms, Lam Dong received information from Da Nang city leaders about the difficulties in decentralization, delegation of power, resource mobilization, and the effectiveness of coordination between the central and local governments.

According to Mr. Phan Van My, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Agriculture and Environment, after implementing a two-tiered local government system, Da Nang has benefited from many special mechanisms applied by the central government, creating momentum for development. Along with the attention from the central government, the locality has always been proactive and flexible in issuing mechanisms that suit the practical situation.

The assignment of tasks with specific responsibilities to departments and agencies in Da Nang has also been very effective,” Mr. My stated.

Regarding the key factors for success in attracting large-scale industrial and energy projects and promoting marine economic development, Lam Dong province received valuable insights and experiences from Trinh Huy Trieu, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Management Board of Nghi Son Economic Zone and industrial parks in Thanh Hoa province.

After the merger, Lam Dong and Thanh Hoa provinces share many similar topographical and geographical conditions. In fact, Lam Dong even has more favorable conditions due to its proximity to key economic regions in the South.

Sharing the same view, Nguyen Trong Chanh, Deputy Director of the Khanh Hoa Department of Agriculture and Environment, said that the process of developing the marine economy must be in accordance with marine spatial planning, urban planning, and energy planning.
