The Hai Phong - Vung Ang - Hai Phong container transport route, operated by Lao - Viet International Port Joint Stock Company in cooperation with MacStar Coastal Container Transport Joint Stock Company, was inaugurated at the end of August.
The shipping route is exploited to contribute to the implementation of the policy of promoting the opening of containerized sea freight routes through Vung Ang port, thereby synchronously developing the province's logistics services.

To date, the shipping route has carried out 5 trains with a total cargo volume of 314 containers (equivalent to 572 TEU). The main transported goods are components for VinFast Ha Tinh Production and Trading Joint Stock Company and transit goods from Laos.
According to the leader of Lao-Viet International Port Joint Stock Company, although the container cargo volume per ship is still low, Macstar Shipping Company is determined to continue maintaining the shipping route and committed to a frequency of at least 4 ships/month until the end of 2026 and can increase to 8 ships/month when container cargo increases.
According to Resolution No. 113/2023/NQ-HDND dated December 8, 2023 of the Provincial People's Council, each container ship carrying goods through Vung Ang port will be supported with VND 200 million/trip (minimum frequency of 2 trips/month). However, through the working process, Macstar Shipping Company expressed its wish not to receive the support fund so that the province can focus on supporting businesses and organizations with containerized export/import goods through Vung Ang port. Thereby, promoting the development of goods production in the province's economic zones and industrial parks and increasing the investment attraction index in the province.
