The above information was recently issued by the Center for Overseas Labor, Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs , to workers currently participating in or wishing to participate in the Korean Employment Permit System for Foreign Workers (EPS Program).
The Center for Overseas Labor reported that recently, some individuals have been using social media to spread inaccurate information, intentionally inciting panic among workers participating in the EPS Program.

In the context of the Overseas Labor Center, HRD Korea and related agencies have implemented many measures synchronously and decisively to achieve the highest efficiency in the selection and dispatch of workers to South Korea.
The agency stated that the individuals in question exploited the overall results and the impatience of the workers to exert influence for personal gain. This behavior negatively impacted the program.
The Center for Overseas Labor advises workers participating in the EPS Program to be aware of and not participate in or abet the aforementioned activities. At the same time, the agency also recommends that workers be vigilant and avoid being deceived, lured, or tricked by unscrupulous brokers into losing money.
The Center for Overseas Labor will coordinate with HRD Korea, the Departments of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of provinces/cities, and other relevant agencies to strictly handle any violations detected.

The EPS program was signed through a memorandum of understanding between the Korean Ministry of Labour and Employment and the Vietnamese Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs.
Workers wishing to work in South Korea must attend and pass the Korean language proficiency test organized jointly by the Korean Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Vietnamese Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs.
Workers who meet the Korean language requirements, skills, and other specified conditions should submit their applications to the Center for Overseas Labor (Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs) through the local Departments of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.
In 2023, Vietnam and South Korea also jointly organized a Korean language proficiency test for nearly 23,400 workers wishing to work in South Korea. This was the largest number of registrations in the past 10 years.
For the whole year of 2023, Vietnam aims to achieve the target of sending 10,000 workers to work in South Korea under the EPS Program.
According to the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, South Korea is currently one of the key labor markets, attracting many Vietnamese workers who choose to work there, with an average income of 1,500-2,000 USD/month.
In recent years, due to an aging population, South Korea has faced an increasing labor shortage. Therefore, the government is actively adjusting its policies to create more favorable conditions for workers, such as increasing the quota for work permits under the EPS program, extending working hours for seasonal agricultural workers, and expanding the acceptance of workers in the shipbuilding industry to attract more foreign labor.
To date, Vietnam has sent over 110,000 workers to South Korea under the EPS program. The program has made positive contributions to creating stable jobs and ensuring social security for workers.
