As of 8:20 a.m., weather radar images show that most areas in the province are experiencing developing convective clouds, continuing to cause moderate to heavy rain with thunderstorms. Some places such as Uong Bi, Don Son, Ben Trieu, Bai Chay have heavy to very heavy rain. Many areas such as Tuan Chau, Viet Hung, Bai Chay, Ha Tu, Ha Lam, Cao Xanh, Hong Gai, Ha Long, Mong Duong, Quang Hanh, Cam Pha, Cua Ong, Bai Tu Long Bay, Van Don, Co To, Dong Mai, Hiep Hoa, Quang Yen, Ha An, Phong Coc, Lien Hoa, Yen Tu, Vang Danh, Uong Bi, Hoang Que, Tien Yen, Dong Ngu, Hai Lang, Quang Tan, Hai Hoa, Ba Che, Luong Minh, Ky Thuong, Hoanh Mo... are forecasted to have the possibility of moderate to heavy rain, very heavy rain. During thunderstorms, beware of lightning, tornadoes, strong gusts of wind, landslides, broken trees, damage to houses, traffic works, infrastructure, affecting boat operations and human life. Heavy rain can cause localized flooding on roads, low-lying residential areas, and flooding of culverts across rivers and streams.
According to the assessment of the Quang Ninh Hydrometeorological Station, the level of natural disaster risk due to flooding is determined at level 1. The risk of flooding can cause local traffic congestion on some streets and roads, affecting the movement of vehicles; in addition, heavy rain can cause landslides at waste dumps and mines, damaging civil and economic works and causing damage to production activities as well as socio-economic activities.
Quang Ninh Hydrometeorological Station recommends that units and localities monitor and take timely preventive measures.
