In Long An, a 5-seater car was dragged for over 20 meters by a truck and severely damaged on the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong expressway, causing a traffic jam of about 5 km on the afternoon of May 20th.

At approximately 3 PM, a truck with a Dong Nai license plate was traveling on the highway towards Ho Chi Minh City. Upon reaching Thanh Duc commune, Ben Luc district, the truck collided with a five-seater car traveling in the same direction ahead.
The collision caused no casualties, but the front of the truck sustained minor damage, and the five-seater car was dragged for more than 20 meters, its front and sides crumpled and lying across the front of the truck.

Because the two cars involved in the accident blocked an entire lane during rush hour, other vehicles had to use the remaining lane and the emergency lane, causing a traffic jam of about 5 km on the highway.
Rescue teams arrived at the scene to remove the damaged vehicles from the area. After about two hours, traffic on the highway returned to normal.

The Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway, nearly 62 km long with 4 lanes, has been in operation since 2010 with a maximum speed of 100 km/h. In early 2019, toll collection ceased, and traffic volume subsequently increased by over 30%, reaching 40,000-50,000 vehicles per day, causing road overload and damage. More than 200 accidents have occurred during this period.
