Becamex TP.HCM vs SLNA Match Result: Cao Văn Bình Helps the Visiting Team Secure Early Relegation Safety
On the evening of May 24th, Becamex Ho Chi Minh City hosted SLNA at Go Dau Stadium in Round 24 of the V.League 2025/2026. This was a crucial six-point match that would decide the fate of both teams in the relegation battle.

Therefore, neither Becamex TP.HCM nor SLNA wanted to lose this match. They started cautiously, waiting for their opponent's mistakes. As a result, the game proceeded at a slow pace as both teams maintained tight defensive formations.
At the 31st minute of the match, an unusual incident occurred when the Go Dau Stadium suddenly lost power. Everything was plunged into darkness, forcing the stadium organizers to scramble to find a solution. Even so, it took nearly 20 minutes before the match could resume once the lights were back on at Go Dau Stadium.

However, for the remainder of the first half, when the game resumed, nothing remarkable happened as neither team had many sharp attacking moves to penetrate the opponent's penalty area.
Entering the second half, coach Van Sy Son made some changes to increase SLNA's attacking speed. These changes immediately paid off when they scored the opening goal. From a pass by Olaha on the right wing, Van Luong made a run and headed the ball skillfully into the net past goalkeeper Minh Toan, giving SLNA a 1-0 lead in the 51st minute.

Trailing by a goal, the home team tried to launch attacks in an attempt to equalize. They created dangerous chances towards goalkeeper Cao Văn Bình's goal. This pressure led to mistakes in the SLNA defense.
Following Viet Cuong's shot from the edge of the penalty area, the ball struck Van Huy's hand in an attempt to block it. Referee Le Vu Linh awarded the home team a penalty. However, from the penalty spot, striker Nguyen Tran Viet Cuong failed to beat Cao Van Binh, resulting in a regrettable missed opportunity.

Since that missed penalty, Becamex TP.HCM's passing game became monotonous, lacking cohesion and effectiveness. Their stagnant play against SLNA frustrated the players. In the 88th minute, Ho Tan Tai received a red card for a rough tackle. This made Becamex TP.HCM's efforts to equalize even more hopeless as they played with ten men.
Losing this match 0-1, Becamex TP.HCM is in dire straits in the relegation battle with only 21 points, just one point ahead ofSHB Da Nang and three points ahead of PVF-CAND. In their next match, Becamex TP.HCM will face the challenging CAHN Club at Hang Day Stadium.
Meanwhile, thanks to the 3 points gained from the victory, SLNA officially secured their place in the league with 27 points, 6 points ahead of Becamex TP.HCM.
