Alcaraz and Tsitsipas are worthy of being the two strongest players at this year's Barcelona Open, and their battle in the final received great expectations. However, the events on the field witnessed a completely different scenario.

Carlos Alcaraz showed better character and form than his senior. The Spaniard showed determination in every shot. On the contrary, the Greek did not show the confidence and class needed at the crucial moment.
The final result of this match was 6-3, 6-4 in favor of Alcaraz. The 19-year-old successfully defended the title he won last year thanks to his convincing performance and consistency throughout the tournament.
This is a well-deserved championship for the world number 2 tennis player, helping him have a good run before entering important upcoming clay tournaments such as Madrid Open (ATP Masters 1000, April 24 to May 7), Rome Masters (ATP Masters 1000, May 8 to May 21) and Roland Garros (Grand Slam, May 28 to June 11).
After the Barcelona Open, Alcaraz will have to defend his Madrid Open title on home soil. Last year, he defeated Novak Djokovic in the final. This year, injuries have prevented both Nadal and Djokovic from attending the Madrid Open.
