Speaking at a press conference ahead of the 2023 Madrid Open, Carlos Alcaraz was full of confidence: "Physically, I feel good. I feel like I'm at 100%. I'm looking forward to participating in the Madrid Open this year.
With the level I showed at the Barcelona Open, I will go to Madrid with a lot of confidence. We players know it will be difficult to adapt to Madrid, but we have a few days to prepare. I really can't wait to get out there and compete."

At the Madrid Open 2023, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic are absent due to injury, so Alcaraz is even more highly regarded for his championship chances. Last year, Alcaraz won both the Barcelona Open and the Madrid Open, so the 19-year-old tennis player wants to repeat the achievement this year.
Alcaraz has been in fine form in 2023, winning 23 matches and losing just two. The Spaniard has played five tournaments, winning three titles, reaching one final and one semi-final.
Alcaraz will begin his defence of the Madrid Open 2023 title on April 27. The Spanish star has a bye in the first round and will face the winner of the Ugo Humbert - Emil Ruusuvuori match in the second round.
After the Madrid Open, Alcaraz will have two other important clay tournaments: the Rome Masters (May 8-21) and Roland Garros (May 28-June 11). These are two tournaments that the Spaniard has never won.
