With a total investment of nearly 400 billion VND, Vam Cai Sut Bridge is about 650m long and more than 23m wide. The project is located on Huong Lo 2 road, expected to contribute to reducing traffic congestion and promoting local socio -economic development.
In mid-November, officials, engineers and workers are rushing to complete the final stages of the project. It is expected that by the end of this year, the Vam Cai Sut bridge will be inaugurated.
However, the Huong Lo 2 road section from the bridge to the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway (phase 2) about 6km long has not been implemented yet. This means that as soon as the bridge is opened to traffic, the situation of "where is the road?" will fall into place.
Many opinions say that building a bridge without a plan in sync with the connecting traffic system is a waste of state budget and does not maximize the effectiveness of the project.
Last April, the Department of Planning and Investment of Dong Nai province proposed to separate Huong Lo 2 route phase 2 from the Amata Long Thanh city project and the KN Bien Hoa new urban area project. Up to now, this agency is implementing related procedures to implement the above proposal to ensure compliance with legal regulations.
After that, the Department of Transport will submit the investment policy documents and implement the project using public investment capital in 2025.
Most recently, at the end of October, the Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Council sent a document to the Provincial People's Committee on urgently removing obstacles and implementing investment plans to connect traffic on the entire Huong Lo 2 route.
In particular, the Chairman of the People's Council of Dong Nai province requested to soon have a plan to ensure compliance with legal regulations and the actual situation of the locality, to promote the investment efficiency of the Vam Cai Sut bridge project, avoiding wasting state budget capital.
