Not only stopping at realistically depicting everyday moments, artists also convey respect, praise and gratitude in their works. Art thus becomes a “bridge” to spread beautiful messages about silent sacrifices, contributing to connecting the police and the people.
When literature and art go hand in hand with the police force
Among the Dong Nai literary and artistic community, writer Dao Sy Quang is a special name. He was once a soldier who directly participated in combat, experiencing the fierce days of war. Those unforgettable memories became the material for the writer to compose and preserve in many collections of short stories about soldiers, helping today's generation better understand the sacrifices and bravery of their ancestors during the war.
Not stopping at the theme of soldiers in war, in recent years, the pen of writer Dao Sy Quang has expanded to the image of the CAND soldiers - the people who are continuing that tradition in peacetime. A clear proof of this change is the short story The Fire that just won the B prize in the Short Story and Journal Writing Campaign with the theme of CAND - 80 years of building, fighting and growing up organized by the Ministry of Public Security .
Writer Dao Sy Quang shared: “In the short story The Fire, I depict the image of firefighters rushing into the sea of fire in an industrial park to save people. The work conveys a message about the bravery and humanity of the People's Public Security Forces. Through that, readers can see that the work of the soldiers is not only a duty, but also a silent sacrifice, a spirit of serving the people.”
Not only literature, cai luong stage, drama also became a fertile "land" for Dong Nai artists to carry out many topics about the police force. Among them, many cai luong plays such as: Revival, In the name of justice, The war; short play The story of merger... were staged, performed online and directly served the people inside and outside the province. The works tell about police officers in the fight against social evils, especially drug prevention, fighting against high-tech crimes, donating organs to save people; or they, together with grassroots cadres, actively propagandize the implementation of the 2-level local government model.
The fields of music , fine arts, photography, etc. of Dong Nai are also fertile lands that contribute to the portrait of the police officer. Many beautiful photos, new music, or oil paintings, ceramic mosaics have recorded very close, very ordinary moments of the police force, they are always ready to protect the peace of the people. Many works participating in provincial, regional and national competitions have won high prizes.
Musician Cao Hong Son is one of the people who wrote many songs about the armed forces, including the People's Public Security Forces. In 2024, he was honored to be invited by the Department of Party and Political Affairs (Ministry of Public Security) to participate in the Campaign to compose songs on the theme: 80 years - Glory of the People's Public Security Forces of Vietnam in the provinces and cities of the Southwest region.
“Each field trip with the People’s Public Security Forces left me with many unforgettable emotions. I witnessed the dedication, hardships and silent sacrifices of the soldiers at the grassroots level. The melodies thus became more authentic and closer, reflecting the image of the People’s Public Security Forces soldiers as not only “steel shields” protecting the people, but also the spiritual support of the community” - musician Cao Hong Son confided.
Dong Nai artists hope that in the future, there will be more visits to police units to create new, authentic works that touch people's hearts. This is also a way to meet the increasing demand of the public, spreading the beautiful image of the People's Public Security Forces.

“Bridge” of trust and gratitude
Most of Dong Nai's literary and artistic works on the topic of the People's Public Security have been spread and promoted by artists themselves in the media.
According to People's Artist Dong Thi Que Anh, Director of Dong Nai Art Theater, over the years, the theater's artists and actors have constantly researched and created to bring the audience stage works that are associated with the breath of life.
Each script and each play about the police officer is carefully invested in by Dong Nai Art Theater from content to staging, performed online, live, broadcast on VTV channels, Newspapers and Radio, Dong Nai Television to create a positive spread in the community. Not only serving political tasks, serving the people, but these plays are also performed directly by the theater to serve police officers and soldiers in the province.
Hoai Minh is one of the artists of Dong Nai Art Theater who often plays the role of a police officer on the cai luong stage. Every time he plays the role of a police officer, he always feels like he is living with them, sharing the hardships, dangers and joy of keeping the people safe. When the audience is moved to tears by a scene of sacrifice, or applauds loudly after an excerpt showing the bravery of the police force, he understands that art has fulfilled its role: both honoring, showing gratitude and connecting the trust between the police and the people.
In the context of a rapidly developing society, many new problems arise, spreading the beautiful image of the People's Public Security Forces through literary and artistic works is even more meaningful. This is the way for people to better understand and trust the soldiers who serve the people, and accompany the People's Public Security Forces to build a safe and civilized life.
