That is the content emphasized by Vietnamese Ambassador to Korea Vu Ho in his speech at the 2025 Global Conference with the theme "Beyond Borders: Enhancing the Global Competitiveness of Korean Universities" held on September 17 in Seoul, Korea.

The conference, organized by The Korea Times media group, attracted the participation of more than 500 delegates from many countries around the world and leaders of higher education institutions in Korea.

In his welcome speech at the Conference, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education and Social Affairs Choi Kyo Jin said: The Korean Government aims to be among the world's top 10 education destinations. To achieve this goal, the Korean Government will create a favorable environment for international students to pursue both their studies and a stable life in Korea.

Deputy Prime Minister Choi Kyo Jin emphasized that the Korean government considers attracting and supporting skilled workers in advanced fields a national priority; therefore, it will focus especially on attracting international students who excel in science and technology. He also added that the Korean government is developing a program to support international students in their efforts to study and build a stable life in Korea.

Speaking at the conference, Vietnamese Ambassador to Korea Vu Ho said that with more than 70,000 students, Vietnam ranks first among countries with international students studying at Korean educational institutions.

Vietnamese students are known for their diligence, adaptability and learning capacity; evidenced by the fact that many of them have achieved scholarships, research achievements and have had quite successful innovative start-up projects.

Ambassador Vu Ho said that this is an important force that bridges friendship and cooperation, demonstrating the increasingly developing partnership between Vietnam and Korea.

However, Ambassador Vu Ho also pointed out that Vietnamese students studying in Korea also face many challenges. Among them are language barriers and cultural integration, financial pressure, and post-graduation career; these challenges force many students to abandon their studies, affecting their health, future, and even the image of the community.

On that basis, the Ambassador proposed that the two Governments, relevant agencies and Korean educational institutions coordinate to develop short-term, medium-term and long-term plans in this area, including providing orientation, legal advice and specialized Korean language training from the beginning, establishing a rapid response support network from embassies, student associations and universities, expanding scholarship programs and joint Vietnam-Korea educational initiatives.

In addition, the parties should also promote mutual recognition of degrees and professional qualifications, develop a sustainable Vietnam-Korea human resources ecosystem, and link education with strategic industries.

To build resources for implementation, the Ambassador suggested that relevant parties study the possibility of establishing and developing the Vietnam-Korea Research and Innovation Fund, thereby both supporting the learning process and creating a premise for students to start businesses.

The Ambassador affirmed that Vietnamese students are not only the pride of their families and the nation but also a strategic asset for regional and global cooperation.

Ambassador Vu Ho called on all parties to nurture strengths, address weaknesses, and create favorable policies. If successful, Vietnamese students will be leaders of innovation, ambassadors for Vietnam-Korea friendship, and builders of sustainable development.
