The Tan Lang Bridge and connecting road construction project, located in Nguyen Uy and Le Ho wards ( Ninh Binh province), has a total investment of 1,496 billion VND from the Central Government budget and the Ninh Binh Provincial budget. It is being constructed by a consortium of Hai Pha Vietnam Co., Ltd., Viet San Mineral Production and Export Joint Stock Company, and Thanh Tung Co., Ltd.
During implementation, the project encountered numerous difficulties, particularly in land clearance. The lack of a complete and cleared site caused delays and prolonged construction compared to the planned schedule. In response to this, the investor (Ninh Binh Investment, Urban Development and Land Fund Management Board, Area 2) and local authorities focused on reviewing and gradually resolving obstacles, while also intensifying communication and persuasion efforts to gain public support.
Once the site was almost fully handed over, the contractors focused on the project with urgency and determination, working in shifts throughout holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year). To date, the project has handed over the road section with the branch and main route from Km0+00 to Km4+580 for operation.
Mr. Nguyen Thai Lan, Chairman of the Board and Director of Hai Pha Vietnam Co., Ltd., said: "Identifying this as a key project of the province, right from the moment we won the bid, we focused all our human and material resources and quickly developed a construction plan with the highest determination to complete it ahead of the contract deadline. For our company, completing this project is not only a source of joy and pride but also demonstrates our capacity to undertake even larger key projects in the future."
According to observations by reporters, the construction unit has completed approximately 99% of the work at the Tan Lang bridge construction site. Currently, workers are carrying out the final stages such as painting, tiling the bridge's observation towers, constructing expansion joints, cleaning up, and planting trees around the bridge. All items are expected to be completed before December 31, 2025.
Mr. Nguyen Van Nam, the site manager of Thanh Tung Co., Ltd., affirmed that, at this point, we can confirm that the project has been completed on schedule as agreed with the province. We are proud to have successfully completed the construction of the beautiful and impressive bridge that Ninh Binh province now possesses.
Mr. Nguyen Hong Thanh, from the Ninh Binh Area 2 Urban Development and Investment Management Board, added that, overcoming objective and subjective difficulties, as well as the efforts of the contractors, the project has been completed on schedule. Upon inauguration and operation, the Tan Lang bridge and the connecting road will shorten travel distances, facilitate transportation for people in the area, and simultaneously meet transportation needs, promoting cooperation and socio-economic development of localities in the region.
After years of relying on pontoon bridges for transportation and being almost isolated during flood season, Mr. Nguyen Van Huan (Dong Tan residential area, Nguyen Uy ward, Ninh Binh) happily shared: “It’s truly joyful and overwhelming to see the bridge built, completed, and put into use after decades of anticipation from our people. The bridge not only facilitates convenient travel for the people but also improves their lives and significantly enhances the transportation infrastructure in the suburban area.”
The inauguration of the Tan Lang Bridge and the connecting regional road project is significant in creating a vibrant atmosphere of emulation, affirming the socio-economic development achievements of the country and the locality, and creating new momentum for the next development phase. At the same time, it demonstrates concern for social welfare, is practical, solemn, and has profound political significance, encouraging the contribution of the entire population.
