Full of passion for the profession

STC Ship Technology Partnership Company (Gia Vien Ward) was established in 2000, specializing in research, consulting, design, technology transfer of ships, maritime instruments and maritime safety... After 25 years of development with many difficulties and challenges, however, with the persistent "steering" of General Director Nguyen Nam Tuan (now over 70 years old), the enterprise affirmed its position in the domestic and international markets with highly applicable technology products.

As an electronics engineer graduated from Hanoi University of Science and Technology, for over two decades, Mr. Tuan has always been steadfast in his research and manufacturing orientation to meet the strict requirements of the maritime industry. "As long as there is strength, there will be dedication. Each new product is the crystallization of the collective intelligence and creativity" - Mr. Tuan confided.

Along with focusing on digital transformation in management, Mr. Tuan also expanded cooperation, sent staff to study abroad, and brought new knowledge back to apply to businesses. Thanks to that vision, STC became a trusted partner of the Ministry of National Defense , Navy, Coast Guard, etc. Thereby, maintaining growth, actively contributing to the state budget and ensuring workers' income.

STC’s success affirms the courage, intelligence and dedication of General Director Nguyen Nam Tuan. In his old age, the “captain” maintains his enthusiasm and steadfastness in the “vast sea” of high-tech industry, affirming his dedication.

Coming to Bao Ha craft village (Vinh Hai commune), the sound of chiseling resounds around the house of artisan To Van Huu (68 years old). As the 13th generation to continue the statue carving profession from his ancestor To Phu Luat, Mr. Huu has devoted almost his entire life to the profession. For him, each statue is not only a work of art, but also contains passion, honor and pride of the family.

More importantly, the artisan is always concerned about passing on the passion to the younger generation. His two children, who used to work abroad, have now returned to follow their father's footsteps, continuing to develop the traditional sculpture craft. Instead of choosing to retire, artisan To Van Huu still diligently creates, becoming the "soul keeper" of the craft village.

A shining example in the community

Faced with the reality of increasingly shrinking agricultural land area, Director of An Hung Agricultural Services and Electricity Cooperative (Hong An Ward) Doan Van Kiem (75 years old) is always struggling to find solutions to support people from restoring production, consuming products to expanding consumption channels.

Under the leadership of Mr. Kiem, An Hung Cooperative with more than 100 members has grown strongly, strengthened its links with businesses, and built a sustainable agricultural value chain. In particular, the cooperative has linked up to produce 4-star OCOP standard green onions, serving exports to Japan and Korea, affirming the local agricultural product brand in the international market.

The cooperative mobilizes resources, maintains stable operations, and meets the essential needs of the people, especially in the fields of environmental sanitation services and electricity trading. All fields are effective, promoting advantages, and workers' incomes are stable and increasing. Every year, the cooperative allocates a portion of its profits to local welfare activities.

In 2024, the cooperative was honored by the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance as a national exemplary cooperative and awarded the 2024 Cooperative Star Award.

This is a worthy reward, recognizing the persistent efforts of the collective and the "old-age, exemplary" leader Doan Van Kiem so that people can feel secure in their attachment to their homeland.

Not only is she good at business, she also spends part of her profits on charity and sharing with the needy. Over the years, she and her company have received certificates of merit from organizations, departments and branches, including a Certificate from the Central Association of the Elderly for being a good business model. The company also creates jobs and stable income for many local workers.

At the age of 70 and 80, it is the age to rest, recuperate, and enjoy time with children and grandchildren, but businessmen, artisans, cooperative directors, female chairwomen of the Board of Directors... with their will, determination and desire to contribute tirelessly, steadfastly pursue their dreams, and continue to contribute to society.

Many people have been actively contributing their experience and enthusiasm to the development of the collective economy, creating thousands of jobs, increasing income and promoting the sustainable development of the city.
