The CES 2026 technology exhibition is currently taking place in Las Vegas, USA. At this event, Intel introduced its Core Ultra Series 3 processor line, aimed at computers that support AI processing.
According to the company, this is Intel's first generation of chips manufactured using the Intel 18A process. The design focus of the Core Ultra Series 3 is on balancing performance and power consumption, while also expanding the ability to handle AI and graphics-related tasks.
The new product line adds two Core Ultra X9 and X7 variants, integrating Intel Arc graphics. Both are equipped with 16 cores, 12 graphics cores, and a neural processing unit (NPU) capable of achieving a maximum computing power of 50 TOPS, supporting local AI tasks.
According to data released by Intel, the overall performance of these two chip models has increased by approximately 60% compared to the previous generation, while gaming performance has improved by up to 70%. Battery life on devices using Core Ultra X9 and X7 can reach up to 27 hours, depending on configuration and usage conditions.
In addition to the two versions above, the Core Ultra Series 3 also includes the Core Ultra 9 with 16 cores, the Core Ultra 7 with 8 or 16 core options, and the Core Ultra 5 with 8 or 12 cores. Of these, the Core Ultra 5 is positioned for the mainstream laptop segment, focusing on stable performance and energy efficiency.
The first laptop models using Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors are expected to go on sale starting January 27th.
