The "Touching 18: SOLARIA" Gratitude and Coming-of-Age Ceremony is an event organized by the Humans of HSSH Journalism Club in collaboration with the Executive Committee of the Student Union of the High School for Social Sciences and Humanities.

This program is a special gift for 12th-grade students, marking the end of their vibrant youthful years at the Faculty of Humanities before they officially embark on a new journey into adulthood.

Contributing to the vibrant atmosphere of the evening were the artistic performances from the HLA-HSSH Land of Art Club. With a diverse range of performances, from explosive shows to gentle songs about youth, friendship, and adolescence, the acts received enthusiastic applause from the large audience.

In a touching moment during the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu, the school's principal, delivered heartfelt words of encouragement to the 12th-grade students as they stand on the threshold of adulthood. Professor Lieu shared: "Always remember that you were once students of the Faculty of Humanities – a place that nurtured your intellect and soul, and always hoped that you would become individuals who live beautifully, humanely, and responsibly."

Speaking on behalf of the K4 Parents' Association, Mr. Nguyen Bac Son said: “We wish the children good health, confidence, and much success in their studies and in life. Always maintain your faith, study hard to pass the upcoming exams, and achieve your dreams.”

To acknowledge the hard work and dedication of the graduating class of 4th grade, the school, along with teachers and parent representatives, presented meaningful commemorative gifts to the graduating students. These small graduation teddy bears and commemorative plaques are special gifts filled with love, faith, and hope that teachers and parents have bestowed upon the students before they leave their familiar school.

The atmosphere of the program reached its climax with the KINGS & QUEENS Finals. Appearing on stage in striking outfits and with confident demeanors, the contestants delivered captivating performances, clearly showcasing their individual personalities and unique styles. Ultimately, the titles of King and Queen went to Le Quang Minh and Hoang Dieu Anh from the K4 Geography class. The continuous applause and cheers from the audience created a vibrant and memorable moment during the event.

One of the moments that brought the entire schoolyard to life was the appearance of guest artist Chillies. Familiar songs like "Memory Zone," "Don't Cry," and "Sun Avenue" resonated, drawing hundreds of students into the rhythm. The synchronized singing, flashing lights, and raised hands created an emotional atmosphere—vibrant, enthusiastic, and a brilliant farewell to their high school years.

For the event to be a resounding success, the silent contributions of the members from the Humans of HSSH Journalism Club were indispensable. Pham Ngoc Bao Tram, the Head of the Organizing Committee and a student from class K5 Literature 1, shared her thoughts on the journey behind the scenes: “Looking back on the journey, we have learned so much valuable knowledge. From how to organize a group, how to bond and coordinate smoothly with members, to how to persevere and make sacrifices for things greater than our own egos. And when this journey comes to an end, the moment the 12th-grade students graduate from high school is also the moment we ‘graduate’ through a threshold of maturity and self-improvement.”

As the Graduation and Appreciation Night drew to a close, lingering emotions remained in the hearts of each 12th-grade student. These included the joy of a memorable youth, gratitude to teachers, parents, and friends, and excitement for the new journey ahead. “Touching 18: SOLARIA” not only marked the coming-of-age milestone for the 2008 graduating class but also became a beautiful memory under the roof of the High School for Social Sciences and Humanities – where youth shone brightly in its own unique way.
