Truong Cam Dao received a scholarship from the University of Toronto, marking an important milestone in her study abroad journey.
Unexpected journey to study abroad dream
Initially, Cam Dao planned to study at a domestic university. However, when she shared with her family her desire to pursue Astrophysics because: "This major makes me feel connected to the vast and deep world out there, urging me to explore more", her parents encouraged her to boldly seek international study opportunities. And from there, Cam Dao's unexpected but inspiring journey officially began.
"I started preparing my application in June 2024, quite urgently, because I really had no plans to study abroad before. But once I was determined, I just put all my effort into it," Cam Dao shared.
Truong Cam Dao also won a scholarship worth 13,500 USD at the scholarship interview day of the University of Nevada, Reno (USA) held at Asian School.
In just a short time, she applied to a number of universities and received 8 admission letters from schools in the United States: Umass Amherst, Texas Christian University, Drexel University, Michigan State University, Iowa State University, Purdue University, Rutger University, University of Nevada, Reno and a surprising invitation from the University of Toronto - a top Canadian university that Cam Dao learned about from a career seminar organized by Asian School.
