The fire caused no casualties, but many parts of the ships were destroyed.

Specifically, at 10:30 PM on May 18th, at the slipway of Thang Loi port (Hamlet 1, Bac Trach commune, Quang Tri province), two fishing vessels, numbered BV92587TS and BV92596TS, owned by Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hoanh (born in 1985, residing in Long Hai commune, Ho Chi Minh City), and BV93146TS owned by Mr. Tran Dum (born in 1968, residing in Long Hai commune, Ho Chi Minh City), suddenly caught fire. At the time of the fire, Ms. Hoanh's vessel had two crew members and one carpenter on board; Mr. Dum's vessel had one crew member. Those on board managed to escape safely.
Initial reports indicate that the ships sustained fire in the cabins and the rear sections. Ships BV92596TS and BV93146TS were almost completely destroyed by fire in the cabins. The extent of property damage has not yet been determined.
Immediately after receiving the report, authorities and local residents deployed firefighting measures to control the flames and prevent them from spreading to other vehicles. By approximately 2:30 AM on May 19th, the fire was completely extinguished.
The police in Bac Trach commune are coordinating with relevant authorities to investigate and determine the cause of the fire.
