Major fire at a karaoke bar in Hanoi leaves many dead.

A major fire broke out at approximately 11 PM on December 18th, with flames suddenly erupting from a karaoke bar at 260 Pham Van Dong Street, Co Nhue 2 Ward, Bac Tu Liem District, Hanoi. Many people were inside the bar at the time.

Firefighting and rescue forces are carrying out firefighting operations and accessing the scene of the fire.

According to initial reports, the fire originated on the upper floor and quickly spread to the upper floors of the karaoke bar, which has three floors and a rooftop. The building, located on a main street and used as a karaoke bar, has a total area of ​​only about 40 square meters.

After engulfing the karaoke bar, the fire spread to the adjacent house.

At approximately 11 PM, immediately after receiving information about the large fire at 260 Pham Van Dong Street, the Hanoi City Police Command Center promptly dispatched the Fire Prevention, Fighting, and Rescue Police force of Bac Tu Liem District Police, along with 10 fire trucks and specialized equipment, to the scene to organize firefighting and rescue operations.

Hanoi Party Secretary Pham Thi Minh Hoai and Lieutenant General Nguyen Hai Trung, Director of the Hanoi City Police, arrived at the scene to direct firefighting and rescue operations.

Simultaneously with extinguishing the fire, the fire and rescue forces used a ladder truck to access the third-floor balcony and brought at least four victims down. Although the fire occurred at a karaoke bar located on a major road, the intense flames made firefighting and rescue efforts very difficult.

Around 0:30 AM on December 19th, the fire was completely extinguished. Authorities continued rescue and search operations for victims. Many victims were brought out wrapped in blankets. Initial reports indicate that the large fire resulted in multiple fatalities.

Upon receiving information about the major fire, Hanoi Party Secretary Pham Thi Minh Hoai and Lieutenant General Nguyen Hai Trung, Director of the Hanoi City Police, immediately arrived at the scene to direct firefighting and rescue operations.

Authorities in Hanoi are continuing rescue and recovery efforts, addressing the aftermath, and investigating the cause of the fire. The initial suspicion for the large fire is that it was caused by gasoline.
