As of 9 p.m. tonight (June 16), the scene of the fire at a two-story house on Hai Thuong Lan Ong Street, Ward 13, District 5 (HCMC) is still being blocked off by authorities to clarify the cause.

Earlier, at around 8:00 p.m. the same day, the second floor of house number 219 Hai Thuong Lan Ong Street suddenly caught fire. The fire was red and black smoke was billowing.

When discovered, many people shouted to each other to bring mini fire extinguishers to put out the fire but failed.

Receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team - District 5 Police quickly arrived at the scene to rescue.

At the scene, the house was engulfed in flames. Police arrived at the house and rescued a woman in her 60s to safety.

The cause of the fire and damage are being investigated.
