More than 15,600 officers and soldiers from the armed forces participated in the combined training, including 18 standing units and 43 walking units. This was also the first time the Army, Police and artillery units practiced together.

Speaking at the training session, General Nguyen Tan Cuong - Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Minister of National Defense - said that after 40 years, military artillery and special police vehicles appeared in the parade through the historic Ba Dinh Square. This demonstrates the continuous growth of the people's armed forces over the past 80 years, under the leadership of the Party.

The General commented that the forces, units and each officer and soldier had made much progress, especially in individual movements, horizontal and vertical distances. The military artillery units and special police vehicles were proficient in changing formation during the parade, maintaining distance and speed... Many limitations pointed out in previous joint training sessions had been basically overcome.
